As part of the preparations for the First-ever National Agricultural Machinery Exhibition scheduled to hold between 10th to 14th November 2025, the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM) yesterday 18th August, 2025 paid a strategic visit to Niji-Lukas in Ibadan, a foremost indigenous fabrication company in Nigeria.

The NCAM delegation, led by the Executive Director, Engr. Dr. A. R. Kamal, was accompanied by the Director and Head of Department, Agro-Industrial Development and Extension, Engr. Dr. Isaac Ozumba, and the Director and Head of Department, Engineering Scientific Services, Engr. Dr. Ogunjirin. The visit focused on identifying proven and commercially viable technologies that could be showcased at the forthcoming exhibition.

In his address, Dr. Kamal commended Niji-Lukas for its remarkable contributions to agricultural development in Nigeria. He reiterated NCAM’s commitment to driving sustainable mechanization as a pathway to increased productivity, food security, and empowerment. He also emphasized that NCAM’s vision goes beyond in-house innovations, extending to collaborations with credible private fabricators whose technologies have the potential to transform agricultural practices.

Dr. Kamal further highlighted NCAM’s plans to establish a Farm Village, envisioned as a model for sustainable food systems, and stressed the importance of working closely with Niji-Lukas and other like-minded partners to bring such initiatives into reality.

On his part, the Managing Director of Niji-Lukas, Mr. Niji Lukas, warmly welcomed the NCAM delegation and expressed his appreciation for the visit. He noted that the engagement was timely and assured that Niji-Lukas is open to fresh ideas while remaining fully committed to supporting NCAM’s vision and working together on future mechanization projects.
