Earlier today, a team from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), which had among its members Mr. Tunde Bello, Digital Agriculture Consultant, and Mr. Austin Odia, Technology Coordinator, visited NCAM.

The visit, focused on a Digital Agriculture Adoption Mission, provided a platform to exchange ideas on how technology can be harnessed to address agricultural challenges and improve farmers’ livelihoods. Indeed, when the subject of agricultural mechanization and technology adoption is discussed in Nigeria, the role of NCAM naturally comes to the fore.

During the engagement, the Executive Director of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM), Engr. Dr. A.R. Kamal, alongside the Management Team, received the FAO delegation.

The team also had the opportunity to tour some of NCAM’s innovations, where they expressed excitement at the range of homegrown technologies developed to empower farmers and enhance productivity. The discussion further created an avenue to share insights on NCAM’s continuous efforts in advancing agricultural mechanization in Nigeria, while identifying potential areas of collaboration in promoting sustainable agricultural development.
