NCAM and SDG 4 – Quality Education

The National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM) is actively contributing to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) — Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

As part of our commitment to this goal, NCAM has implemented targeted training programs designed to enhance the skills of women and youth in agricultural processing. These programs focus on hands-on learning using NCAM-developed technologies tailored to local needs.

Empowering Women and Youth through Skills Development

We have trained numerous women entrepreneurs and young people in the effective use of improved cassava and oil palm processing equipment. These trainings aim to:

  • Equip participants with practical skills in modern cassava and oil palm processing.
  • Promote sustainable agricultural and food processing practices.
  • Improve productivity and income generation for rural communities.
  • Encourage innovation and entrepreneurship through technology adoption.

One of our initiatives involves training women on the utilization of cassava flour for pastry making, using NCAM-developed processing technologies. This not only enhances food security and value addition but also opens new economic opportunities for women in agribusiness.

Our Impact

By fostering inclusive, technology-driven education and skill-building in the agricultural sector, NCAM is:

  • Supporting lifelong learning,
  • Reducing inequality in access to quality education,
  • Promoting sustainable development through innovation.

These efforts contribute significantly to the realization of SDG 4 while reinforcing broader national and global development priorities.
