The Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, CON, during the commissioning ceremony of Africa’s largest shea butter processing factory in Kudu, Mokwa LGA of Niger State, initiated a strategic collaboration between the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM) and SALID Agriculture Limited to advance mechanization in shea butter processing.

In what appeared to be a brief yet strategic meeting, the Honourable Minister introduced the NCAM Executive Director, Engr. Dr. Kamal A.R., to the MD/CEO of SALID Agriculture Limited, Dr. Ali Saidu, highlighting the urgent need for collaboration between both institutions in equipment development and knowledge sharing for the benefit of Nigeria. He further expressed optimism that the collaboration would usher in a new era of innovative advancements in the agricultural processing of shea butter and related agricultural produce.

In attendance at the commissioning were the Executive Governor of Niger State, His Excellency, Governor Farmer Mohammed Umar Bago, Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Abdullahi, NCAM’s Executive Director, Engr. Dr. Kamal A.R., Dr. Ali Saidu, MD/CEO of SALID Agriculture Limited and many other dignitaries. The newly inaugurated facility, with a 30,000-metric-tonne annual processing capacity, represents a significant milestone in Nigeria’s agricultural industrialization.

The Executive Director of NCAM, Engr. Dr. Kamal A.R. congratulates the Niger State Government, the Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture, the host communities, and SALID Agriculture Limited on this landmark achievement, which is set to create jobs, empower women and youth, and strengthen Nigeria’s position in the global shea butter market.

Through this collaboration, NCAM will apply its specialized expertise in agricultural mechanization to optimize processing operations, enhance value addition, and support sustainable development of the shea value chain, positioning Nigeria for greater impact in the global shea industry.
