NCAM Launches Web platform with support from Research and Innovation Systems for Africa (RISA)Fund

The National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM) has unveiled its new official website, marking a significant step forward in promoting agricultural innovation and mechanization in Nigeria. Supported by the Research and Innovation Systems for Africa (RISA), this launch underscores NCAM’s commitment to driving sustainable agricultural practices through digital transformation. The new website offers an intuitive user experience, providing easy access to information on NCAM’s innovative technologies, training programs, research publications, and upcoming events. Designed to engage a wide range of stakeholders—including farmers, researchers, policymakers, and investors—the platform bridges the gap between technology and agriculture, fostering a collaborative environment for growth.

The launch was made possible through a collaborative effort with key international partners, including UK International Development, the Coalition Network of Stakeholders in Agricultural Mechanization (CONESAM), the RISA Fund, and Adams Smith International (ASI). Their support highlights the global commitment to advancing agricultural mechanization, a cornerstone of food security and sustainable development.

To ensure effective management of the new platform, fifteen NCAM staff members received specialized training. Led by Mr. Wisdom Hanson, Communications and Media Advisor, and Mr. Samuel Abas, National Technical Advisor for the RISA-KECC Project, this training equipped the team with skills to maximize the potential of the website, ensuring it remains up-to-date and functional.

For years, NCAM faced challenges in disseminating information due to the lack of a functional online presence. The new website addresses this issue, allowing the Centre to effectively showcase its research, innovations, and mechanization services. This project, delivered at no cost, reflects the strong spirit of collaboration and shared goals among the organizations involved.

During the launch, Mr. Samuel Abas emphasized that the project aligns with RISA-KECC’s vision to foster knowledge-sharing and collaboration in agricultural mechanization through innovative digital solutions. NCAM Executive Director, Engr. Dr. Kamal Abdulgafar Rasheed, represented by Dr. Mrs. Oyeniyi Janet, expressed gratitude to RISA and CONESAM, noting that the website will enhance NCAM’s global reach.Engr. Dr. Ogunjirin Olusola Adetola, Director of Engineering at NCAM, praised the initiative as a “game-changer” that allows the Centre to share its achievements with the world. Trained staff members echoed this sentiment, thanking RISA for the opportunity to be part of this transformative journey. The newly launched website will provide comprehensive information on NCAM’s agricultural solutions, research, and future projects.

This development reinforces NCAM’s leadership in advancing agricultural mechanization in Nigeria while reflecting the collaborative efforts of both local and international partners.
